Here are some methods to save money in different aspects of your life.
Pay your bills online and save the cost of stamps and checks. Most banks offer online bill payments so you get to make sure all your expenses are paid on time and see the amounts clear your bank account allowing for better budgeting in your life.
Locate your bakery thrift store and save money with the bargains on bread and other baked products for as low as fifty cents for a loaf of bread. They sell cakes, and snacks at the same savings.
Avoid spending money for your coffee at Starbucks by purchasing or drinking the coffee at your office. Buy the flavorings to make the coffee taste the way you like it. Save money on the expensive coffee and make the addition to your monthly savings.
Change your cell phone plan for cheaper service. If you do not use the phone more than the minutes, you are paying for you are wasting your money each month. There are carriers with plans that only charge for the minutes you use and even newer services such as Cricket and Boost where you have all the benefits of the major cell phone companies at a reduced price. You can still keep your same cell phone number when you switch providers so that is a great benefit for people who do not want to lose touch with friends and family that are used to the number they have currently.
Stop ordering soft drinks when you dine out. The water is free and is healthier for you. The costs of the sodas are expensive. Bring along a dry mix drink packet to add to the water. The restaurants change the average of $2 a drink, since the water is free, you will be saving at least that amount with every meal.
Find out with your mortgage company if you can cancel the PMI insurance on your mortgage. This is usually for the first year or two. The savings can add up to about $50 a month or more based on the type of insurance you have. This is over $600 a year you could be paying too much on your mortgage.

  1. MediaCurves conducted a study among 222 viewers of a news clip on frugal living. Results found that in the past year, the key areas that consumers have cut spending in are dining out (81%) and personal luxuries (79%). Among the other top areas that consumers reported having cut back on included buying clothing/accessories (69%) and vacations/travel (62%). In addition, 47% reported that they have sold personal items to earn extra money, and 22% indicated that they have worked more overtime or picked up extra shifts at work.
